Glossier Boy Brow | Review + Swatches

I actually got this particular brow gel - glossier’s boy brow as a christmas gift along with some other glossier products. I hadn’t tried it until about 1 month ago but haven’t stopped using it since.

If I am wearing a full face of makeup (which is rarely) foundation, eye makeup etc I prefer to actually fill in any sparse areas of my brows with either Anastasia Beverly Hills Dipbrow in Dark Brown or the Brow Wiz in Dark Brown. I feel like I almost need to do that because if I simply used a brow gel it would look a bit off. Other days when I’m wearing minimal makeup e.g MOST DAYS - I like to use this, it really defines my brows and subtly fills them in. I tint and wax my brows myself so they don’t need that much doing to them but I feel like when I add this brow gel it just adds something extra.

Another thing I have been enjoying about this product is that it hold your brows in place. Around the arch of my brows my hair sort of grows downward making my brows look more sparse. I find when I add the brow gel and brush the hairs into place they stay there and it makes the brows feel much more full.

Looking at the details of this specific product it actually contains some pretty cool ingredients.

Beeswax and Carnauba Wax - Natural waxes that hold hairs in place without stiffness.

Oleic Acid - An emollient derived from olive oil that nourishes and moisturizes.

Lecithin - A natural fatty substance that adds a silky, smooth texture and a subtle sheen.

Atelocollagen - A collagen derivative that helps condition and strengthen the hair fiber.

Pretty cool right? Not to mention cruelty free! I have the black shade as my hair is quite dark but they also carry a clear shade as well as other colours. It also provides some info on how to apply it

Apply in short, upward strokes to fluff and shape brows into place. Clear shows up white upon application, but becomes transparent as you comb it in (just like hair pomade would).

Have a look at my before and after, there’s nothing else but this product through my brows and I don’t have any other make up on.

I wish I had gotten this product sooner as it’s so easy to apply and looks a lot more natural than drawn on brows! It’s definitely become a staple in my everyday minimal makeup routine! For anyone wondering Glossier do only ship the the US and UK I believe, but I have heard that the Essence brow gel 'Make me brow' is a good dupe for this one. You can buy Essence in loads of pharmacies as well as Pennys!
