LMSU : MY CURRENT SKINCARE ROUTINE
I'm lucky to have quite clear skin apart from the occasional blemish. I think my clear skin apart from luck/genetics/etc is due to my 3 rules.
NEVER GO TO SLEEP/GYM WITH MAKEUP ON - whenever I break this rule I always break out
MOISTURISE .. A LOT
DON'T PICK - I will sometimes break this when I'm bored and .. oh god do I break out
Along with these 'rules' I also have a 3 step, quick and efficient way of cleaning my skin. I do these steps on days when I wear makeup and even when I don't. Please keep in mind I'm not a professional, I just do what works for me.
FACEWIPES | I have been using face wipes ever since I started to wear makeup properly. For me they are the quickest, most efficient way of taking of my makeup & cleaning my face. I like to choose ones aimed at sensitive skin, but I'm not fussy. Normally I will pick up a pack or two when I do my weekly grocery shop .. in lidl! The ones I buy there are less then 1EUR per pack. I also find their sensitive wipes leave your face with a moisturised feeling. I know everyone is obsessed with micellar waters at the minute, I picked up the Garnier one a while back and the morning after using it to remove my makeup my eyes were really irritated, around my lower lash was red, itchy and the skin was dry and cracked! Nightmare! I then left using it for a while and one night a few months ago after getting home from work at 5AM I found I had ran out of face wipes so had no other option to use the micellar water again .. surprise it happened again with my eyes. So I think I will just stick with what works for me!
TIP | If you get on ok with these micellar waters they are especially great to use when you have eyelash extensions in, as they don't contain oils they are perfect to use to remove eye makeup while wearing eyelash extensions!
TONER | After using the face wipes I like to use a toner, For a long time I loved the Clarins toning for dry skin but recently I received the PIXI glow tonic and I have been loving it so far. Taking a cotton wool pads I soak about 4 of them in the toner and use one for each portion of my face | forehead, chin & cheek | I feel like it removes any other dirt etc that the face wipes may have missed. The PIXI toner in particular leaves a bit of a radiance to your skin, which you notice a few minutes after using it. I love to use it in the mornings before my moisturiser on a day when I wear no makeup, to make my skin look brighter.
You can purchase this toner here off of the asos website, I believe they also stock the brand PIXI in Marks & Spencer, on grafton st upstairs in the beauty section.
MOISTURISER | My favourite bit, following the toner I like to literally smother my face in moisturiser. I'm doing it right now as I write this post. I think this is so so important, for everyone even people with oily skin. My favourite is the L'oreal Age Specialist 45+ now I know I'm not 45+. These 'mature' creams are much richer with a better payoff I believe, I love this cream, it leaves your face with a silky feeling. I like to wear this at night, in the morning, under makeup. 24/7 love love love, I believe it's like 12EUR or more to buy it which is a bit pricey, I will be stocking up when I'm back in Ukraine over Christmas FO'SHO. A really similar product, lidl again haha is their night cream, which retails at about 2EUR!! I love this and like to use it jut as much as the L'oreal, I have a pot downstairs in the bathroom, up here in my bedroom and a pot in my beauty room too. For the price tag you have to try it. Gives the same results as the L'oreal one and is the same size too I believe!
